Roy L.V. Sewell, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born on July 20, 1945 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Orvil and Ida Marie (Brown) Sewell. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and he was employ by the Department of Defense as a painter at Fort Chaffee. He was a 32 degree Mason at the Hartford Masonic Lodge 609 and a member of the VFW. He was attending Southpoint Church.
Funeral services with will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Smith with burial in the U.S. National Cemetery with both military and Masonic honors.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Oma of the home; a daughter, Nacole Joslin and her husband Robert of Fort Smith, AR; one sister, Helen Foster of Victorville, CA; one grandson, Haydin Joslin of Fort Smith, AR; two stepsons, Bennie Hines of Rocky Comfort, MO and Raymond Hines of Nashville, TN; six step grandchildren and his former wife and friend, Reba Lovell of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Johnny and Craig Edwards, Bill and Charles Howard, Mark Turnipseed and Ed Huber. Honorary pallbearers are Barbara Howard, Jerry Meadows and Justin Wells.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
