Obituary for Evan Wade Williams

Evan Wade   Williams
Evan W. Williams, 35, of Greenwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord after his long and courageous battle with brain cancer on Friday September 23, 2016 in his home. He was born March 27, 1981 in Fort Smith to Dennis and Mary (Whitson) Williams. Evan was a graduate of Southside High School and the University of Arkansas in Fort Smith with an electronics degree. He was an electronics technician for Stolz Telecom out of Oklahoma City. Evan loved all things outdoors. He enjoyed kayaking, camping with his friends and fly fishing for trout. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Evan cherished his friends and family.
Evan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eunice and Carl Whitson and Wilma and Paul Williams, his aunt Carlene Whitson-Swearingen and his uncle Dale Whitson.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Mary Williams of Greenwood; one sister, Amy Williams McClure and her husband Jordan of Fort Smith and his constant companion his rescue dog Cooper.
There will be a viewing from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday September 25, 2016 and 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday September 26, 2016 with a family visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 1, 2016 at Central Baptist Church in Fort Smith with a visitation in the Family Life Center following the memorial service.
Memorial may be made to either the Sebastian County Humane Society 3800 Kelly Highway Fort Smith, AR 72904 or to Charleston Dog Shelter P.O. Box 118 Charleston, AR 72933.
