Obituary for Freeman Morland

Freeman  Morland
Freeman Morland, 82 of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 in a local hospital. He was retired from Miller Lighting Supply out of Little Rock and also Freeman’s Florist in Fort Smith. He had also worked as a glass blower for Southwest Glass Company in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Morland; one son Chris Cox and three brothers Si, Bruce and Huey Morland.

Funeral services will be 10AM, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Morrison Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He was survived by one son Jason Morland and his wife Dana of Fort Smith; one step-son Steve Cox of Texas; one daughter in law Annette Cox of Fort Smith; his companion Peggy Chapen of Alma; two brothers Jim Morland and his wife Nelda of Van Buren and Dwight Morland and his wife Virginia of Fort Smith; two sisters June Lott and Sarah Ruiz both of Van Buren; six grandchildren Kristan Williams and her husband James of Greenwood, Jadan Morland, Lynde Morland, and Evan Morland all of Fort Smith, Jason Hetherington and his wife Angie of Texas, and Erin Willis and her husband Jeff of Fort Smith; four great-grandchildren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Bob Davis, Paul Bochat, Tim Higgins, James Williams, Robert Frazier, Jason Morland, Greg Rickner and Gus Copenhaver.
