Obituary for Vivian Mitchell (Tonnemaker)

Vivian Mitchell, 76, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in Van Buren. She was the Mayor’s Administrative Assistant for the City of Van Buren where she retired after thirty nine years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Gladys (Campbell) Tonnemaker and a sister Violet Tonnemaker.

Funeral services will be 10 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by two daughters Karen Dahlke and her husband Doin and Paige Hammond and her husband Jamie all of Van Buren; three sisters Virginia Willis and her husband Carl of Conway, Vera Johnson and her husband Wayne of Hope, and Valdene Blackmore and her husband Charlie of Benton; four grandchildren BreAnne Rogers and her husband Devin, Kelsey Furr, Mitchell Hammond and Andrew Hammond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Friday, July 22, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Ron Selby, Ron Reading, Dr. Mike Hurst, Mark Toothaker, Mitchell Hammond, and Andrew Hammond.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mayor Gene Bell, Earl Robinson, Alan Swaim and Johnny Jack.
