Elmer Cates, 98 of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in a local hospital. He was a self employed carpenter and a lifetime resident of Crawford County. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Phillps) Cates.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by one sister, Sarah Manning of Chico, California; fifteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren
