Obituary for Joe Ben Marley, II

Joe Ben  Marley, II
After a protracted battle with cancer, Joe Ben Marley II died on May 13, 2016 in Alma, AR at the age of 64. He leaves behind his wife, Joyce Marley; his daughters, Amy McPartland and Kaitlyn Speck; and his son, Ben Marley.
Joe was born on September 19, 1951 in Fort Smith, AR, to father H. Don Marley, Sr. and mother Mary Lou Marley. He grew up in a large, loving family with four brothers. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He married Joyce Wiley on June 16, 1984.
From tracking down runaway Mafiosos as a bail bondsman to repairing computers as an IT professional, Joe was a man of varied professional talents. He loved spending time with his family and riding motorcycles. When diagnosed with cancer in 2012, he maintained a positive attitude and will to fight his illness. Upon viewing a beautiful sunset in his last month he declared “I’ve got my sight. I’m so lucky.” He was ever-grateful
.Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in U. S. National Cemetery with military honors. Services are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include wife, Joyce, three children, Amy (Don) McPartland, Ben (Shonda) Marley, and Kaitlyn (Adam) Speck, mother, Mary Lou Marley, four brothers Don (Nancy), David (Jane), Phillip (Nonie), and Mark (Cheryl) Marley, and three grandchildren, Alex McPartland, Sadie McPartland, and Jackson Speck.
He is preceded in death by his father, H. Don Marley, Sr.
Pallbearers will be H. Don Marley, David Marley, Phillip Marley and Mark Marley, Scott Neidecker and Allen Tumminello.
The family will visit with friends at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
