Obituary for James Theron Gillis

James Theron  Gillis
James Theron Gillis, 84, of Alma, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 in a local nursing home. He was a member and Bishop of New Life Alma Pentecostal Church of God, owner and operator of G and R Mobile Homes and Transit Escorts and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was born April 3, 1932 in Attadic, TX to the late Benjamin Franklin and Edna Mae (Holt) Gillis. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jim Gillis, Jr.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at New Life United Pentecostal Church of God, 1806 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR with interment in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Services are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gillis of the home; one daughter, Donna Rogoff of Alma; 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Life Pentecostal Church of God, P.O. Box 2701, Alma, Arkansas 72921
Pallbearers will be Brian Sharum, Matt McDowell, Wayne Turney, Jeremy Watkins, Shane Ross and Johnny Peoples.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dickie White, Chris Ferguson, Anthony Allen, Butch Brumley and Mike Smith
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening May 4, 2016 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR
