James Garland Dodd, 74 of Rudy passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was retired from Whirlpool Company and was a plant manager for H & N Foods for many years.. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Dodd; his parents, Henry and Bertha (Smith) Dodd; three sisters, Viola Nelson, Barbara Speaks and Velma Elmore; three brothers, Eugene, Harland and Henry Dodd, Jr; four grandchildren, Tiffany Dodd, Trey Langston, Caleb Dodd and Jamie Lynn Dodd.

Funeral service will be 11:30 A. M. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Arkansas with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Geraldine (Chronister) Dodd of the home; three daughters, Sheila Dodd and Elencia Johnston both of Rudy; Memorie Slavens of Hackett; one son, James Dodd, Jr and wife, Deedra of Rudy; two brothers, Harold Dodd of Van Buren, Lloyd Dodd of Blue Mound, TX; his grandchildren, Michael Kerr and wife, Tina of Van Buren, Charhon Kerr of Fort Smith, Nathan O’Kelly and wife, Eileen of Sapulpa, OK, Zack Dodd and wife, Courtney of Alma, Ely Fimple and wife, Jennifer of Rudy, Aaron Dodd and wife, Asheley of Blytheville, Austin Dodd and wife, Amber of Lavaca, Denver Dodd of Fort Smith, Scotty Langston and wife, Jessica of Van Buren; Hayden Dodd of Hackett; sixteen great grandchildren

The family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, January 25, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home,
700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Zack Dodd, Michael Kerr, Scotty Langston, Aaron Dodd, Hayden Dodd and Ely Fimple.
