Obituary for Sherry Jo Davis (Carter)

Sherry Jo  Davis (Carter)
Sherry Jo Davis, 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born on May 20, 1935 in Bay City, Michigan. Sherry was a former secretary for the Fort Smith Museum of History and previously had worked for both Paul Williams CPA and Crain Industries. She volunteered at both the Fort Smith Museum of History and Fairview Elementary School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lee Davis her parents, Harold and Flora Mae (Yeatte) Carter and a sister in law Cathy Davis.
Funeral services are 1:00PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Ray and her husband Karl of Fort Smith, AR; two sons, Douglas Brown and his girlfriend Leslie Lamb of Freemont, CA and Butch Brown and his wife Mary of Fort Smith, AR; three grandchildren, Megan Hammer and her husband Mark and Kelsie Jo Ray and her fiancée Jesse Hillis all of Fort Smith, AR and Shelby Brown of Freemont, CA; 1 great grandchild Jacob Matthew Hammer of Fort Smith, AR; her brother in law, Dave Davis of Mulberry, AR and her nephew, Rick Davis of Mulberry, AR.
Pallbearers are Jessie Hillis, Richard Villines, Rick Davis, Matthew Hammer, Shannon Patten and Greg Allison.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home.
