Dolen D. Nelson, 79 of Mulberry passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 in a local hospital. He was retired from Whirlpool in Fort Smith. He was a member of 71 Freewill Baptist Church in Alma.

Graveside service will be at 10 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Pope Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Frances L. (Smith) Nelson of the home; three daughters, Edith Newton, Glenda Patterson and husband, Terry and Maliesa Nelson all of Mulberry; two sons, Vernon Nelson of Mulberry and Brian Nelson of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Christopher Swift, Lisa and Henry Newton, Jeffrey, Dolen & Jessica Patterson, Brian, Ryne & Brittany Nelson; six great grandchildren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Swift, Henry Newton, Jeff Patterson, Dolen Patterson, Brian Nelson and Ryne Nelson.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Brooks, Daniel and Danny Polk, James Bartoe, Archie Reynolds and Johnny Whitburg.
