Obituary for James Edward "Ed" Friddle

James Edward "Ed"  Friddle
James Edward (Ed) Friddle of Chester died Friday, November 13, 2015 in a local nursing home from complications of pneumonia and a stroke.. He was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Annie Friddle; former wife, Darlene "Kidder Friddle; and longtime companion, Reva Teague; as well as his brother, Raymond Friddle; and sister, June Seratt.

He is survived by three children Rozzetta Mokamba, Marfie Mattison and husband James, and James L. Friddle-Smith and his wife,Linda, all of Minnesota; and stepchildren, Gayle Teague of Texas and Bill Teague of Mountainburg. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise, Allene, Virginia and Brenda; two brothers and spouses, Archibald and their spouses; three granddaughters and three grandsons; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed attended the Chester Freewill Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Chester where he for many years operated a firewood business. He only recently retired as an employee of the City of Chester and a member of the city council. He enjoyed fishing and boating, was rarely seen without his dog beside him and loved wrestling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Viewing will be Monday at Ocker Funeral Home in Alma from 8 AM to 8 PM. Service will be held Tuesday November 17, 2015 at the Chester Freewill Baptist Church at 11 AM followed by a luncheon at the church for family and friends. Burial will be at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.
