Robert Preston  Dabbs
Robert Preston Dabbs, 68, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away on October 6, 2015 in a local nursing home. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Oakland, California. He attended high school in San Leandro, California and attended Westark Community College in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He worked at Rheem Manufacturing for thirty four years. He was a member of the National Steel Workers Union, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and also served in the Arkansas National Guard. He was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge #131. He was preceded in death by his parents D.D. and Pauline Dabbs.
Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00PM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at the U.S. National Cemetery officiated by Reverend Tommy Rhamy under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Honorary pallbearers with be members of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; two sisters, Mary O’Dell and her husband Tracy of Greenwood, AR and Paula Barnes and her husband Phillip of Duncan, OK; two brothers, Alvin Dabbs and his wife Betty and Andrew Dabbs all of Greenwood, AR and two nieces, Melanie Barnes and Katie O’Dell.
The family will visit with friends from 6-7PM on Thursday, October 8th at the funeral home.
