Ronald K. “Pops” Jones, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born in Booneville, Arkansas to Hubert and Beulah Ann (Taylor) Jones. He was a retired traffic manager at Hickory Springs, a U.S. Navy veteran and a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Temple Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 12:30PM in French Prairie Cemetery in Ione, Arkansas.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Shepherd and her husband Floyd of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Michael Jones and his wife Vonda of Fort Smith, AR; five grandchildren, Michael, Chris and Candice Shepherd and Taylor Joyce-Kay Jones and Matthew Price Jones; five great grandchildren, Jasmine, Brianna and Eli Shepherd, Noriah Blackburn and Grayson William and one brother, Hubert Jones, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Matthew and Jamie Jones, Chris, Michael and Floyd Shepherd, Kenny Watts, Jason Pendleton, Kermit Acosta and Kendall Kilgore.
Honorary pallbearers are the Masons and John Brown,Jerry Nehus and Kendall Kilgore.
