Obituary for John William Bartlett

John William  Bartlett
John William Bartlett, 86 of Van Buren formerly of Ozark and Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully Monday, August 24, 2015. He was a retired Captain for the Kansas City Police Dept and a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was a avid golfer and he loved his family and friends dearly. He was a member of the West Park Baptist Church in Ozark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Bartlett; both his parents, Truman and Pearl (Forbus) Bartlett.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by one son, John Michael Bartlett and wife, Karen of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Angela Bartlett of Russellville; one sister, Bobbie Dee Frazier of West Fork; one brother, Jack Bartlett and wife, Kathy of Elkins; four grandchildren, Rachael Parker of Van Buren, Randi Pendergrass of Russellville, Daniel Bartlett and wife, Margie and Melissa Bartlett all of Kansas City, Mo.; six great grandchildren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Ayden Parker, John Michael Bartlett, Daniel Bartlett, Jack Bartlett, J.J. Mills and Jason Wilson.
