Obituary for Bobby L. Johnson

Bobby L.  Johnson
Rev. Bobby Louis Johnson, of Van Buren, was promoted to Heaven on August 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father Rev. Doyle Louis Johnson and mother Edna Leila Johnson, both of Van Buren. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela Cecelia Johnson of Van Buren, his daughter, Dara Fowler of Van Buren, his son and daughter in law, Rev. Torin L. and Debbie Johnson of Van Buren, four grandchildren, Trevon Fowler, Taylon Fowler, Tobin Johnson and Taryn Leigh Johnson, all of Van Buren.

Rev. Johnson pastored Conway Pike Assembly of God, North Little Rock, AR, Brownsville Assembly of God, Lonoke, AR, he preached on the evangelistic field for a short time and then pastored Dardanelle Assembly of God. He served as Arkansas District Youth Director, (D CAP) and took Van Buren First Assembly of God, June 1st, 1980. For 35 years he served as Pastor, through many building projects, ministries and outreaches, the latest of which include, Legacy Heights Retirement Center and Memory Lane an Alzheimer’s Unit.

He served the Arkansas Assemblies of God as Sectional Presbyter, District CA President, Assistant Superintendent, and Executive Presbyter. For the last 23 years he served the General Council of the Assemblies of God as a General Presbyter.

Rev. Johnson had a heart for missions, in which he led his congregation to give above and beyond more to Speed the Light than any other church in the nation. He loved his family and his church family. A Pentecostal Preacher that poured his HEART AND SOUL into every message, especially in his last message when he called us as a church, city, state and nation to REPENT. WE WILL CRY GRACE TO THIS MOUNTAIN!

Funeral Service will be at 10 AM Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Van Buren Assembly of God Church with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Van Buren Assembly of God Church 1014 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Van Buren Assembly of God Building Fund 1014 Fayetteville Road Van Buren, Arkansas 72956
