Obituary for Robert Michael Blasdel

Robert Michael  Blasdel
Robert Michael Blasdel “Smoke”,73 of Alma passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 in his home. He was born on April 19, 1942 in Oklahoma to parents Hattie and Heber Blasdel. He graduated from Bokoshe High School in 1960. He retired from Whirlpool in 2005 where he worked for over 20 years while continuing to drive a truck until he retired from MTI Transportation in 2010. Robert was a great family man and a loving father. He married Thelma Kazy in 1975 and moved to Cedarville where they raised their family and maintained a farm until 2000. Robert enjoyed life to the fullest and his family and friends will always remember him as a loving person who loved his family and his grandchildren. He was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church in Uniontown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Heber and Hattie (Buffington) Blasdel; two brothers, Clinton and Wayne Blasdel; two sisters, Carolyn Cecil and Janette Kay Rhoden.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Salem Cemetery in Cedarville with Brother Mark Thornbrugh officiated. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert’s life under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Thelma (Kazy) Blasdel of the home; two daughters, Evonne Blasdel of Spiro, OK, Emily Bell and husband, Steve of Alma; two sons, Michael Blasdel of Pocola, OK, William Endel Kazy and wife, Carrie of Van Buren; nine grandchildren, Clarissa, Stephen, Keely, Ashley, Azia, saige, Andrea “Tookie”, R.J. and Aiden and six great grandchildren, Aiden, Jaylynn, Paisley, Asher, Easton and Devyn.

Pallbearers will be Mark Kriete, Wayne Tiffin, Jesse Strelow, Mark Satterley, Tom Kennington and Steve Brown.
