Andrew Scott "Drew"  Byars

Andrew “Drew” Byars, 45, of Fort Smith passed away in a local hospital on July 29, 2015, after beginning rehabilitation for a spinal surgery. Drew was a very loving person who believed in and received the gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. Drew loved anything outdoors especially golf and watching his boys play baseball, football, basketball, soccer and golf. He was a music lover and served as past President of the Fort Smith Blues Society, actively attended First United Methodist Church, was a past member of the Fort Smith Southside Rotary Club, the Jaycee’s and a former Chamber Ambassador. He was preceded in death by his father Joe Dan Byars, Sr. Drew was simply loved by many.
He is survived by his wife Anna; three sons, Ben, Sam and Alexander, who brought Drew joy every day; his mother, Ann Byars of Fort Smith; two brothers, Blake Byars of Fort Smith and Joe Byars and his wife Carla of Fort Smith; his niece, Kat Silman and her husband Rick; three nephews, Nick, Beckett and Will Byars; great nephew Saylor Byars
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 1, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith with private burial after the service in Alma City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be David Jones, Dusty Smith, Brent McCord, Adam Baker, Sam Ledat and Mike Echols.
The Family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Memorials may be made to the First Tee, 5802 Geren Road Fort Smith, AR 72903.
Drew was a fun loving father, son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin who loved to hang out with family and friends.
