Life Story for Dale Leon Whitson

Dale Leon  Whitson
Dale L. Whitson, 65, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on July 17, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born on May 16, 1950 in Fort Smith, AR to Carl and Eunice (Mendenhall) Whitson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carlene Swearingen.
Funeral services are 11:30AM, Monday, July 20, 2015 at Rye Hill Baptist Church with burial with honors to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Nancy ”Wina” Whitson of the home, two sons, Greg Boley and his wife Joyce of Fort Smith, AR and Monte Whitson and his wife Mandi of Bentonville, AR; four sisters, Laura Whitson of Fort Smith, AR, Mary Williams of Greenwood, AR, Marcie Elliott of Van Buren, AR and Nancy Whitson of Fort Smith, AR and four grandchildren, Tanner Whitson of Bentonville, AR, Tristan Dale Boley of Fort Smith, AR and Tori Whitson and Amaya Whitson of Bentonville, AR.
Pallbearers are Steve Carson, Carey Wilson, Dwayne Scowden, Dale Richardson, Elmer Nelson, Craig Hodges, Jeff Testerman and Jack Christie.
Honorary Pallbearers are the 1967-68 Southside Rebel football team.
The family will visit with friends from 3-5PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
