Condolences

Condolence From: Detective Sgt. Jeff Leininger
Condolence: I worked for Ken from 1998-2006, either with him as my Sgt or Chief. We had some good times. We laughed together and fought together, when need be. Ken was always willing to listen to what anyone had to say, even a rookie officer, "whose opinion meant nothing", lol. I learned a lot from Ken, and used a lot of what he taught me to get to where I am today. His time ended too soon, but one thing is for sure, those who knew him, will never forget him. My condolences go out to his family, and his friends.

Condolence From: Gary Hickey
Condolence: I only knew Ken through playing poker with him at the casino, but grew to consider him as a good friend over the past couple of years. His humor, friendliness, quick smile and laugh struck a cord with me. I was so sad to hear of his passing and will miss his presence at the poker tournaments. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

Condolence: Ken was one of the first people my wife and I met when we moved to Rochelle. He was a compassionate police officer with a great sense of humor who always went the "extra mile" - He was greatly admired and will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family!

Condolence: From the first summer we spent together in Hillcrest, we became more than just uncle and nephew. Though we didn't see each other very often over the years we continued to share that bond developed that summer. When we reconnected several years ago during what would become an annual family event, it was as if we had never been apart. Ken had a way of putting you at ease, no matter the situation. Always under control, which was developed during his many years in public service which he dearly loved. I got to see that pride first hand when he took me on a tour of the Rochele Police Department and his office. He was the consummate professional!
Ken will never be forgotten and his antics will live on. The story of "The Dent" will be told many times over and always with many smiles an lots of laughs!
Ken will certainly be missed but will be in our hearts and minds forever!! Hope you drew to that inside straight, Chief!!!!!
