Catherine Smith Helms, 97, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at a local hospital. She was born on September 30, 1917 in Charleston, Arkansas to Claude and Willie (Riddle) Smith. She was a retired seamstress for Arkansas Casket Company. She was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by her husband Jeff, one son Steve and her grandson Brian Stroud.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with a private burial at Steep Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice “Bonnie” Jones and her husband Melvin and Cheryl Stroud and her husband Lewis all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one daughter in law, Pat Helms of Greenwood, AR; 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends following the service at the funeral home.
