Sharlene Diane Nelson, 59, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in a local hospital. She was born on December 15, 1955 in Alliance, Nebraska. Sharlene was an Air Force veteran and formerly worked in New York as a registered nurse. Recently she had worked for Jackson Hewitt as a tax preparer. She was of the Christian faith.
A family held graveside memorial service with military honors will be 1:00PM, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Newell of Chanhassen, MN and Jason Newell of Schenectady, NY; one brother, Steve Jacques of Sayre, OK; three sisters, Wendy Nelson of Magazine, AR, Judy Kloos and Lynne Jacques both of Rapid City, SD and seven grandchildren.
Cremation was handled under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
