Billy Joe Buck Shepherd, 69, of Mountainburg, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in his home. He was a retired certified millwright for Whirlpool where he had worked for 35 years, a U. S. Army National Guard Veteran of Alpha Battery 2/142 and of the Christian Faith. He was born January 25, 1946 to the late Glen and Wilma (Moore) Shepherd. Also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lewis and two brothers, Roy and Don Shepherd.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Conley Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie Shepherd of the home; two sons, Eb Shepherd and wife Trisha Beth and JBO Shepherd and wife Emiley Jean all of Mountainburg; one brother, Jay Shepherd and wife Dorothy Jean of Mountainburg; six grandchildren, Winston Shepherd, Bailey Shepherd, Trey Evan Shepherd, John Shepherd, Natalie Ricarte and Madden Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Austin Sangster, Winston Shepherd, Will Hubbard, Roy Shepherd, Jr., Mike Shepherd and Keith Cecil. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary McAllister, Gary Gann, Howard Carruth, Ruff Smith, Ronald Smith, Junior Plum, Wayne Bynum and Mike Reeves.
