Billy Lee Blount, 81, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away at a local hospital Friday, November 28, 2014. He retired from the City of Van Buren Street Department after 35 Years. He attended the Armor Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Blount; six brothers; and a sister; a son; a son-in-law; a daughter; two grandsons and one grand daughter.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Monday December 1, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Arkansas with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Freda Blount of the home; five daughters, Debbie Jones and Kathy Owens of Fort Smith, Dorethea Solomito of Van Buren, Patricia Sidebottom of Nicut, OK, and Glenda Hale of Bridgeport, TX.; two sons Kenneth Blount of Pea Ridge, AR, and Donald Mongold of Kibler; a brother, Roger Blount of Claremont, CA; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Donnie Mongold, Ronnie Blount, Daymon Blount, Billy Reynolds, Derek Blount, and David Atkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry D. Odom, Randy Blount, SR, Robert Blount, Randy Blount, JR, and Shane Blount.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 3 to 5 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas
