Jewel Marie Barber, 60, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away on Saturday November 29, 2014 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith. She was born February 18, 1954 in Lepanto, AR to the late Carl and Jewel (McElyea) Edgar. Also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Michael Edgar.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East.
Survivors include her husband, Donald G. Barber of the home; two daughters, Sherry Buchanan of Alma and Sandy Wade of Van Buren; four sons, James Shelton of Van Buren, Anthony Shelton of Tulsa, Clay Barber of Benton and Bruce Barber of Alma; three sisters, Peggy Foster, Joyce Primm and Melinda Hale both of Alma; one brother Davey Edgar of Van Buren; 18 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Shelton, Aaron Shelton, Jacob Shelton and Skyler Shelton, Devin Gendron, Derrick Gendron and Levi Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerrod Suggs, Christopher Peterson and Justin Turner.
