Obituary for Phillip Edward Fedric

Phillip Edward Fedric
Phillip Edward Fedric, 72 left his earthly home for his eternal home on Monday, October 13, 2014. He was born on April 13, 1942 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Edward Mayes and Wanda Wilson Fedric. Phil was a 1960 graduate of West Tallahatchie High School in Webb, Mississippi. He attended Northwest Junior College and Mississippi State University. Phil grew up in the Mississippi Delta and as a young man developed a love for farming, ranching, and horses as he worked alongside his father on their farm. Everyone who talked to Phil quickly realized that he was passionate about horses, trucking, and classic country music. In 1968 Phil married the love of his life Sharon Boyt Fedric in Greenwood, Mississippi and together they raised their family in Mississippi and Arkansas. This past March they celebrated 46 of marriage. Phil began his 35 year career in the trucking industry working for Plough, Inc as a long haul over the road driver, traveling through all forty eight contiguous United States. He joined Miller Transporters in 1972 and quickly moved into the Safety Management Area. He retired from the trucking industry at the age of 55. Phil was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and fought a courageous battle with the disease.
