Condolence: On behalf of the men and women of Little Rock AFB, Fire and Emergency Services, we would like to offer our condolences. I first met Leon (ie. Chief Bottoms) in February 1988 when I first came to LRAFB. As a new airman and new firefighter, he quickly took me in and made me feel at home. He was always kind and considerate. He's the benchmark I've measured other Asst. Chiefs against. Few compare. I've missed him over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this trying time. God Bless. Condolence: I am saddened at the news of Leon’s death. I’ve often seen Leon working his wonderful garden across the street. And I’ve enjoyed the taste of the produce he sold from the carport. Also I have many memories of seeing him on Lake Wister as we passed each other on our hunt for the large Crappie those waters are known for giving up to expert hands.
I pray for Mrs. Bottoms and my friend Steve as well as his family.
Merciful Father, you Son wept at the death of Lazarus; look with compassion on Leon’s loved ones, now experiencing sorrow and pain at his death. Grant the tender comfort and peace of your love for all who grieve. Lighten their hearts with precious memories of the wonderful times they shared. Amen
