Bill Marion  Jenkins
Bill Marion Jenkins, 81, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away from this life in his home on October 7, 2014 after a seven year battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Fort smith, Arkansas on September 30, 1933. He retired from IBM after 25 years as a Customer Engineer. He was a member of Westark Church of Christ, an amateur radio operator and went by the call letters of W5ICS and volunteered for RSVP. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isa (Pinkston) Hammons, his step father, John Hammons and two brothers, Pat and Jimmy Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home at 4500 Jenny Lind Road, Fort Smith, Arkansas with a private family burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:30PM at the funeral home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Frankie; three daughters, Marian Smith and her husband David of Memphis, TN, Brenda McKinzie and her husband Marion of Fort Smith, AR and Linda Hardin and her husband Shay of West Fork, AR; one sister, Jean Robertson of Alexander, AR; five grandchildren, Brandon and Carrie Smith, Daniel McKinzie, Jennifer Williams and Benjamin Ames and seven great grandchildren, Jordan, McKenzey and Jackson Smith, Kennedy McKinzie, Drake and Walker Williams and Wyatt Ames.
Pallbearers are Marion McKinzie, David Smith, Shay Hardin, Brandon Smith, Daniel McKinzie and Jason Williams.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 2408 South 51st Ste F, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72903.
