Thomas Franklin "Tom"  Hicks


Thomas “Tom” Franklin Hicks, 72, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away in his home. He was born on March 5, 1942 in the Washburn Community. He was the owner and operator of Hick’s Janitorial Service. He was an active member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church and was the Deacon Chairman. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Hicks.

He is survived by his mother Laverne Hicks of Fort Smith, AR; two daughters, YuVonna Hicks and Yolanda Kerns both of Fort Smith, AR; two sons, Yul Hicks of Fort Smith, AR and Yancey Hicks of Drake, ND; two sisters, Rosemond Sain and Elizabeth McAlister both of Fort Smith, AR; one brothers, Don Hicks of Minneapolis, MN; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Bluff Avenue Baptist Church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Yul Hicks, Alex Whitlock, Jacob Ganz, Ronnie Houston, Jody Winters and Gary Wayne Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bluff Ave. Baptist Church.

The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Tuesday evening at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR.
