Freida Delores  McKinney (Scott)
Freida D. McKinney, 70, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, July 17, 2014. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Farris and Helen (Caston) Scott. She was the former co-owner of Alpha –Graphics and was currently employed in the garden center of Wal-Mart. She was formerly active in the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce where she was an ambassador for the Chamber. Freida loved her plants and had several in her home and on her patio, she was an avid reader and enjoyed painting but most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Billie Jackson; she was of the Christian faith.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM Monday, July 21, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The family will visit with friends following the service.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Loyd McKinney of the home, one daughter Monica McKinney of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Marty Scott and his wife Stephanie of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Roger D. Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and one god grandson, Taylor McKinney.
Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics Arkansas Area 4 or to Abilities Unlimited, both charities are at 3305 Kibler Road Van Buren, Arkansas 72956.
