Johnnie Delbert Randall, 82, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014. His passing was peaceful after a short but serious illness.
Johnnie was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Kaw City, OK to John and Hattie Randall. He served his country during the Korean War by joining the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed in CA on the USS Montague. There he met and married Barbara Joann Warner. They resided in CA, where they raised their four sons. Over his lifetime, Johnnie held several positions, but was a long-time employee of Union 76 refinery, then later worked and retired from the Federal Civil service as a boiler operator at the Long Beach Veteran’s Hospital.
Johnnie was a licensed Ham radio operator, call letters KJ6JA, and enjoyed all things electronic. He also loved to recall amusing stories to friends and family of his working days. After relocating to AR, Johnnie and his 2nd wife, Verda, were long time members of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his first wife Barbara, second wife Verda, and sisters Georgia Nix, Bertha Hacker, and Cora Mae Bossingham.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14th at 10:00 am at Wesley United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. Graveside services are immediately to follow at Washburn and Bell Cemetery in Washburn, AR.
He is survived by his sons Steve Randall of Westminster, CA, Dave Randall of Hemet, CA, Jim Randall of Anaheim, CA, and Gary Randall of Westminster, CA; brother Robert Randall and wife Rogena of Dodge City, KS; three grandchildren Kara, Tracy, and Parker Randall of CA; two great-grandchildren; and his dear friend and companion Sally Fiser.
