Obituary for Helen Louise Butler (Brooks)

Helen Louise  Butler (Brooks)
Mrs. Helen Louise (Brooks) Butler, age 79, passed away on April 19, 2014 in Etoile, Texas. She was born on November 14, 1934 in Ft Smith, Arkansas. Helen was a graduate of Fort Smith High School. She served as secretary and church organist for Bluff Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith Arkansas from 1965-1972. After moving to Nacogdoches, she became the church pianist for Memorial Baptist Church from 1990-2010 and was the administrative secretary for the Boys and Girls Club until 2010. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, of 51 years, Merle A. Butler.

Funeral services are 1:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Rose Morrison of Nacogdoches, TX; Carrie Swann and her husband Ken of Etoile, TX and Laurie Hendricks and her husband Ron of Nacogdoches, TX; one sister, Nancy Meadows of West Palm Bay, Florida; and one brother Gary Brooks and his wife Rita of Norman, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8PM on Thursday, April 24 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR.

Memorial donations may be offered to Humane Society of Nacogdoches County, PO Box 631244, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963.
