Obituary for Lonnie Glenn Hawkins

Lonnie Glenn  Hawkins
Lonnie Glenn Hawkins, 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March, 28, 2014 in Oklahoma City. He was a retired construction superintendant, and a Baptist. Lonnie was born on June 26th, 1942 in Alma, Arkansas, He grew up in Arkansas and Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Julian and Verda Hawkins; a daughter, Donna Kay; and a sister, Thanda Hawkins.

After a long and happy life, Lonnie went to Heaven after a lengthy battle with COPD. Lonnie loved his family, his church, and his pets with all his heart and will be greatly missed by them all.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with Reverend Randall Ray and Reverend Frank Giles officiating with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his companion, Marion Wright of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Robbin Slack of Van Buren, Pam Whitebird of Oklahoma City, Tami Hargis of Mustang, OK, and Christy Miller of New Castle, OK; a son, Lonnie Hawkins II of Oklahoma City; a sister, Rita Roth of League City, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Hawkins of Van Buren and Micky Hawkins of Evansville, AR; 7 grandchildren, Chris, Trevor, Zak, Kassady, Jake, Zach and Luke; 2 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Montoya, Zak Montoya, Trevor Arnold, Jake Slack, Zach Slack and Luke Slack.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Hale, Monte Hale, Kassady Whitebird and John McHazlett.

The family will visit with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service.
